SWITZER COVERED BRIDGE - FRANKFORT, KENTUCKY

Length - 120'.... Approx. 8 miles N/E of Frankfort, US Rt-460 to left to north on Switzer Rd., right on on Rocky Branch Rd., bridge on left 300'. Built by George Hockensmith. Restored in 1906 by Louis Bower. Restored in 1990, and in 1998 after flood washed bridge off its supports. Closed to through traffic, open to pedestrians. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on September 6, 1974. Truss Type - Covered Howe Through Truss.

MOUNT ZION/BEECH FORK COVERED BRIDGE - MAUD, KENTUCKY

                                                                                                                 BUILT - 1865

Length - 211'.... Bluegrass Parkway to south on Rt.55, left on Rt.458/Mt. Zion Rd., approx 2 1/2 miles on left. Built by Cornelius Barnes. Rehabilitated in 1982 and 2017. The 2017 restoration of the bridge was completed by Arnold M. Graton & Associates. 80%+ of the original bridge was able to be reused. The abutments were covered with gunite at some point in time. In the restoration much of the stone was rotated so the gunite-covered face is hidden to make the bridge more picturesque. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on March 26, 1976. Truss Type - Covered Multiple Kingpost Through Truss with Added Arches. *During the 2015-2017 restoration of the bridge it was determined by the contractor, Arnold M. Graton Associates of Ashland, New Hampshire, that the arches were a early modification to the bridge. As such, the bridge is now correctly classified as a Multiple Kingpost Truss with added arches.

GLENARM/SUGAR CREEK COVERED BRIDGE - GLENARM, ILLINOIS

                                                                                                             BUILT - 1880

Length - 110'.... Also known as Hedley Covered Bridge. Two miles n/w of Glenarm. Interstate 55 exit 83, west on Horse Farm Rd., right on Burnstine, right on Gordon Dr., right on Covered Bridge Rd., 800' on left. Built by Thomas Black. Rehabilitated in 1965. Closed to motor traffic.  The bridge was posted to the National Register of Historic Places on January 9, 1978. Truss Type - Multiple Kingpost Through Truss variation with arch.
