FORKSVILLE COVERED BRIDGE - FORKSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA






















           LOYALSOCK CREEK
           SULLIVAN COUNTY
           BUILT - 1850

Length - 153' .... In Forksville. PA154 S. 0.25 miles from jct with PA87 in Forksville, W. on Bridge St. 150' to the bridge. The building of the bridge was supervised by the 18-year-old Sadler Rogers, who used his hand-carved model of the structure.  Bridge was restored in 1970 and 2004 when the entire bridge was reinforced with steel girders, including vertical beams for structural strength. The covered bridge rests on the original stone abutments, which have been reinforced with concrete. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on July 24, 1980. Truss Type - Covered Burr Arch Through Truss.

KNAPPS/LUTHER'S MILL COVERED BRIDGE - TOWANDA, PENNSYLVANIA




















 BROWN'S CREEK
BRADFORD COUNTY
BUILT - 1853

 Length - 95' .... WNW of Towanda, Burlington Township. US6 W. 5.0 miles from jct with US220 just N. of Towanda, N. on Kendall Hill Rd. 0.1 miles, E. on Covered Bridge Rd. 0.9 miles to bridge. Repaired/restored numerous times through the years, including 1963, and 2000, and a possible rebuilt in 1915. During the 2000-2002 restoration, I-Beams were installed so that the bridge would be able to support extra weight load. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on July 24, 1980. Open to motor traffic. Truss Type - Covered Burr Arch Through Truss.

SONESTOWN/DAVIDSON COVERED BRIDGE - SONESTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA

















             MUNCY CREEK
            SULLIVAN COUNTY
            BUILT - 1850

Length - 110' .... S. of Sonestown, Davidson Township. US220 S. 0.4 miles from jct with Old Rt.19 on the S. side of Sonestown, E. on Champion Hill Rd. 100' to the bridge. The bridge was built to provide access to a grist mill which operated until the early 20th century.  Rehabilitated and repaired numerous times, including 1969 repair, and 1997, 2005, 2013, and 2020 for flood damage. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on July 24, 1980. Open to motor traffic. Truss Type - Covered Burr Arch Through Truss ( The bridge construction is cruder than most other bridges in the area, having each Burr Arch formed from six straight beams set at angles instead of a smooth curve).
