BARRACKVILLE COVERED BRIDGE - BARRACKVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA
BUFFALO CREEK
MARION COUNTY
BUILT - 1853
Length - 146' ....In Barrackville. Pike Rd. N. 0.1 miles from jct with College St, E. on Buffalo Rd. 50' to the bridge on the N. side of the road. Built by local bridge builders, Eli & Lemuel Chenoweth. Bridge was bypassed in 1987, an ACROW pony truss was installed in 1991 due to deterioration. Renovated in 1998. Closed to motor traffic. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. Truss Type - Single Span Modified Arch Burr Truss with siding added twenty years after bridge's construction.

FOREAKER/WEDDLE COVERED BRIDGE - GRAYSVILLE, OHIO

BUILT - 1886
Length - 92'.... ESE of Graysville, Perry Township. Greenbrier Rd. SE 3.4 miles from jct with OH26 in Graysville, N. (left) on Plainview Road 1.0 miles to the bridge. Although main bridge the builder was anonymous, the abutments were built by Isaiah Cline. The bridge was named Foreaker for the family which owned the adjacent farm; the Foreakers sold the property in 1925 to a Mr. Weddle. The bridge was reinforced in 1938 for automobile traffic and has been continued to be maintained by the county. It was rehabilitated in 2003. It was posted to the National Register of Historic Places on June 5, 1975. Open to through traffic. Truss Type - Single Span Structure With a King Post Truss Core, the abutments have been reinforced with concrete to add stability while the floor with oak planks with additional beams and supportive I-beams being added later.
