MEDORA COVERED BRIDGE - MEDORA, INDIANA

BUILT - 1875
Length - 462' .... ESE of Medora, Carr Township. IN235 E. 1.3 miles from jct with Sparksville Rd in Medora to the bridge on the N. side of the road. Built by Joseph J. Daniels, it took nine months and cost $18,142. Closed to motor traffic in 1972. Restored in 2011. Posted on the National Register of Historic Places on September 19, 2007. Medora Covered bridge is the longest historic covered bridge in the United States. Before the bridge was built people would cross by ferry. Until 1935, the bridge carried U.S. Route 50.
