GREEN SERGEANT'S COVERED BRIDGE - SERGEANTSVILLE, NEW JERSEY

BUILT - 1872

Length - 84' ... W. of Sergeantsville, Delaware Township. CR604 W. 1.2 miles from jct with CR523 in Sergeantsville to the bridge on the N. side of the road. Built by Charles Ogden Holcombe at a cost of $1300. Bridge was named for the property owner in the area. After the bridge was damaged in 1960 it was dismantled and replaced with a modern bridge, In 1961, due to much public outcry, the bridge was rebuilt from the original materials. Bridge was rehabilitated in 2003. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on November 19, 1974. Open to through traffic. Truss Type - Modified Queen Post with iron stringers, and iron verticals.
