LOUX'S COVERED BRIDGE - PIPERSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA

BUILT - 1874

Length - 86' ... E. of Pipersville. Dark Hollow Rd. E. 0.25 miles from jct with PA413 in Pipersville, SE on Carversville Rd. 0.5 miles to the bridge. Built by David Sutton. The bridge was originally called John A. Loux's Cabin Run Bridge; county business records show that Loux uperated a mill on the property next to the bridge. The bridge now is often misnamed as Cabin Run bridge, the actual Cabin Run Bridge is less than 2 miles east on Cabin Run Creek. In 1913, the bridge was extensively rebuilt by David Sutton at a cost of $424. After then state took possession of  the bridge in the 1930s, it added a new oak floor in 1970 with steel I-beams underneath. The bridge was again largely renovated in 1996. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places On December 1, 1980. Truss Type - Covered Town Lattice Through Truss with gable type roof.
