BUILT - 1882

Length - 134' ... In Elizabethton. Elk Av. W. 1 block from jct with US19E, S. on Main St. 1 block, W. on 3rd St. ½ block to the bridge. Constructed at a cost of $3000 by contractor Dr. E.E. Hunter, George Lindsmood and three carpenters. Hunter hired Colonel Thomas Matson, who had engineered the narrow gauge East Tennessee and Western North Carolina  Railroad, to design the bridge and serve as construction chief.  Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on March 14, 1973. Closed to motor traffic. Truss Type - Covered One Span Timber Howe Truss.
