CUMBERLAND/MATTHEWS COVERED BRIDGE - MATTHEWS, INDIANA

BUILT - 1877
Length - 181'.... Located in Matthews on 3rd Street (CR 990E) leaving the village. Was originally called the New Cumberland Bridge. The bridge was built by William Parks of Marion, Indiana. The bridge was floated .5 miles downstream during the 1913 flood. It was returned upstream on rollers dragged by horses. The foundations were raised an additional 3 feet at that time. The 1958 flood only loosened a few boards. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 1978. Rehabilitated in 1999. Bridge is still open for through traffic. Length - 135'.... Approximately 1 mile N/E Of Ceylon on County Rd. 950 S. Originally and historically known as Baker Bridge. Bridge was built Smith Bridge Co. of Toledo, Ohio. Rehabilitated in 1963, and a complete rehabilitation in 2012. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on January 5, 2007. BALLARD ROAD COVERED BRIDGE - JAMESTOWN, OHIO

BUILT - 1883
Length - 80'.... WNW of Jamestown, New Jasper Township. U.S. Rt-35 W 2.0 miles from jct with OH Rt-72 in Jamestown, continue W. on Old U.S. Rt-35 2.7 miles, S. on Ballard Rd. .5 miles to bridge. James E Brown built the bridge following a design by H.E. Hebble. He chose to name it for a nearby industrialist, Lyman Ballard. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 1975. JOHNSON CREEK COVERED BRIDGE - PIQUA, KENTUCKY
JOHNSON CREEK
ROBERTSON COUNTY
BUILT - 1874
Length - 131'....Located on Kentucky Rt.-1029 north of the junction of Rt.-165 which intersects into National Rt-68 less than a mild from Blue Licks Battlefield. The bridge was constructed by Jacob Bower in 1874. Around 1912, Jacob Bower's son, Louis, added and arch on each side to support increased traffic using the bridge. The bridge is important as the only known example of Robert Smith's isometric truss system in Kentucky, and the only one built by Jacob Bower. Rehabilitated in 2008. WALCOTT/WHITE COVERED BRIDGE - BLADESTON, KENTUCKY

BUILT - 1880
Length - 74'... Located approximately 4 miles N/E of Brooksville on Kentucky Rt.-1159. When concrete bridge was constructed about 200 yards northwest in 1954, the covered bridge was then bypassed. Later after bridge was severely damage by floods engineers determined a location about 400 feet east of the original site would be better for a better chance of survival. The bridge was reconstructed in 2002. Closed to through traffic. Truss Type - Combination of both Queen and King Post.

DOVER/LEE'S CREEK COVERED BRIDGE - DOVER, KENTUCKY
LEE CREEK
MASON COUNTY
BUILT - 1835
Length - 61' ....S/E of Dover on Lee's Creek Rd. south off of Kentucky Rt.-8. Built originally as a toll bridge. Major renovations were completed in 1926 by the Bower Bridge Company and in 1966 by the Kentucky Highway Department. It was raised to the current height by 15-year-old Stock Bower in 1920. Latest renovation took place in 2001. Iron support beams were added to the bridge during the course of these renovations. Posted to the National Register of Historic Places on March 26, 1978.
