This is one of the covered bridges where many believe in haunting of this bridge. One haunting story comes from a time during the Civil War which involved three Confederate soldiers who were trying to escape from their service and donned Union  Army attire and marched with the Union army near the bridge to get away from the area. Unfortunately they were caught and treated as spies and were hanged from the bridges's wooden support beams and left there as a warning to other Confederate soldiers. Supposedly through the years people have witnesses various hauntings at the bridge from disembodied heads floating through the bridge to mysterious cigar odors and hearing gunshots, and even feeling being tapped on the shoulder.
